Migraine Surgery: Assessment of the Prevalence and Surgical Outcomes of Different Trigger Sites

Received: 14 November 2025;  Published: 28 February 2026;  doi: 10.21926/obm.neurobiol.2601327

Abstract

Migraine surgery is primarily indicated for patients with chronic migraine who are refractory to conventional pharmacological treatments. The procedure aims to deactivate peripheral trigger sites—anatomical zones where migraines can be triggered by nerve compression and irritation. The most common trigger areas are the frontal, occipital, and temporal. This review seeks to analyse the prevalence of treatment and corresponding success rates for these three main trigger sites. A systematic review was conducted on Pub [...]

Promising Electrocatalytic Systems 2,5-di-Me-Pyrazine-di-N-Oxide - Cyclohexanol - Single-Walled and Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes for the Simultaneous Metal-Free Oxidation of Cyclohexanol at Anode and Release of Hydrogen Evolution at Cathode

Received: 07 August 2025;  Published: 26 January 2026;  doi: 10.21926/cr.2601003

Abstract

Electrocatalytic oxidation of organic compound in the absence of noble metals or their oxides as catalysts and using metal-free electrodes is a "green" electrochemical, inexpensive and attractive process for practical use in electrocatalysis, power sources and sensors. The process accompanied by the elimination of protons, is of interest both for obtaining valuable organic compounds at the anode and for the release of hydrogen evolution at the cathode. In this work, the catalytic oxidation of cyclohexanol in the pr [...]

Embodied Rituals and Healing Practices in Turkish Health Culture: Implications for Contemporary Healthcare Environments

Received: 14 October 2025;  Published: 02 March 2026;  doi: 10.21926/obm.icm.2601010

Abstract

Throughout human history, movement has functioned not only as a physical activity but also as a ritual, considered a healing practice linked to meaning-making and social balance. Bodily performances and ritual-based practices—such as folk dances and mystical rituals—have historically supported the physical and emotional integrity of individuals. This paper examines the historical continuity of movement-based performative practices in Turkish health culture through religious and mystical rituals, folk dances, and mu [...]

Quasi-Solid-State Electrolytes of Polyethylene Oxide-Based Composite Electrolyte with Liquid Electrolytes

Received: 18 November 2025;  Published: 26 February 2026;  doi: 10.21926/jept.2601004

Abstract

A thin film of PEO18Li(CF3SO2)2N(LiTFSI)-tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether (G4)-Li1.4Al0.4Ge0.2Ti1.4(PO4)3-LiCl·H2O (LAGTP·LiCl) was prepared by addition of 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME). The grain boundary resistance of PEO18LiTFSI-LAGTP·LiCl was considerably reduced by the addition of G4, and a large-sized thin film of the composite polymer electrolyte was prepared easily by the addition of 10 wt.% DME. The electrical conductivity of [(PEO18LiTFSI-2G4)-5 wt.% LAGTP·LiCl]-10 wt.% DME was 1.2 × 10-4 S cm-1 at 25°C, a [...]

Analysis of Leukocyte Telomere Length in Brazilian People Living with HIV with and Without Cancer

Received: 31 May 2025;  Published: 04 February 2026;  doi: 10.21926/obm.genet.2601326

Abstract

Advances in antiretroviral therapy (ART) have normalized the life expectancy of people living with HIV (PLWH) but have been linked to a premature presentation of age-related comorbidities, including cancer. Telomere length (TL) is a marker of cellular aging and was investigated in blood leukocytes from 78 PLWH on ART, compared with 163 HIV-uninfected controls. The PLWH group was stratified into three subgroups: HIV-only (n = 57), HIV with AIDS-defining cancer (ADC, n = 9), and HIV with NADC (n = 12). Quantitative p [...]

Image Generation Inspired by Electroencephalography for Neuromarketing Applications Using Extracted Features from Transformer-Based Models

Received: 25 September 2025;  Published: 10 March 2026;  doi: 10.21926/obm.neurobiol.2601328

Abstract

The design of products in Neuromarketing using machine learning methods has been a continuous challenge in Computer-aided design. Previously, deep learning techniques have been applied to generate random images for domains such as furniture, fashion, and product design. However, using deep generative methods requires a large amount of data and overlooks human aspects in the design process. This paper aims to extract human perceptual factors from brain signals using a Transformer-based model and involve them in arti [...]

End-of-Life Care Disparities in Older Adults with Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders

Received: 14 October 2025;  Published: 10 March 2026;  doi: 10.21926/obm.geriatr.2601336

Abstract

Schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSDs) are complex conditions with chronic symptoms and impairments associated with greater risk for physical comorbidity and early mortality. Understanding end-of-life care in older adults with SSDs is crucial for improving geriatric psychiatric care and identifying healthcare disparities. A cohort of 254 older adult decedents with a history of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder was identified using the Rochester Epidemiology Project. A control group of 254 older adult deced [...]

Photovoltaic Power Forecasting Without Local Data: A Spatially-Aware Approach Using Neighboring Plants

Received: 17 October 2025;  Published: 03 April 2026;  doi: 10.21926/jept.2602007

Abstract

The increasing demand for renewable energy sources has intensified the adoption of photovoltaic systems. This study proposes predictive models for solar power generation that operate without dependence on on-site meteorological stations. The proposed approach integrates generation data from geographically distributed plants and accounts for the distance to meteorological stations when constructing climatic variables. Two machine learning techniques, Random Forest (RF) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, wer [...]

Received: 10 October 2025;  Published: 13 March 2026;  doi: 10.21926/obm.icm.2601011

Abstract

Although methods of ethnic-racial socialization have been studied in the past, welcoming in a new digital age has affected how parents engage with their children on topics such as race and culture. While media can be an engaging way to expose young children to race and culture, the underrepresentation of Black youth in media in the United States has posed a dilemma for Black parents about the best way of using media to socialize their young children. To understand how Black mothers expose their children to ideas ab [...]
