Determining the Contribution of Physical Activity Constructs in Developing Intention to Exercise among Entrepreneurs

Received: 08 January 2024;  Published: 06 May 2024;  doi: 10.21926/obm.neurobiol.2402222

Abstract

In the present era, a healthy life is a challenge for everyone. Therefore, diverting individuals' minds towards physical activity and exercise is necessary for the day. This paper proposes to inspect the impact of physical activity on the development of intention to exercise (ITE) among entrepreneurs. The quantitative study collected data from 383 Egyptian entrepreneurs through a survey questionnaire. Most respondents were males (n = 257 or 67.10%) against females (n = 126 or 32.90%). The range of age of the respon [...]

Use of Organs from Hepatitis C Viremic Donors: Addressing the Needs of a Changing Waitlist and the Effect of a Public Health Crisis

Received: 14 May 2020;  Published: 20 July 2020;  doi: 10.21926/obm.hg.2003049

Abstract

The combination of broad screening initiatives and development of effective antiviral therapies have led to a revolution in the treatment of hepatitis C virus and has reduced the proportion of patients with the virus who develop a need for liver transplantation in favor of other etiologies, such as alcohol-related liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. However, the opioid epidemic and rise in injection drug use in the United States has simultaneously led to otherwise healthy hepatitis C viremic patients d [...]

Low Prevalence of Spontaneous Bacterial Peritonitis in Ambulatory Asymptomatic Cirrhotic Patients: Consequences in Patients’ Care

Received: 21 August 2019;  Published: 15 April 2020;  doi: 10.21926/obm.hg.2002045

Abstract

The literature on the prevalence of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) in cirrhotic outpatients who visited the hospital for therapeutic abdominal paracentesis was reviewed in order to assess the usefulness of urinary strips in this setting. The authors reviewed the studies published as peer-reviewed articles on the prevalence of SBP in ambulatory outpatients who visited the hospital for therapeutic paracentesis. Five such studies were available in the literature. It was found that the prevalence of SBP was in [...]

The Technology of Upward Capillary Formation of Waste for Creating a Deposit before Land Reclamation

Received: 08 June 2022;  Published: 27 September 2022;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2203037

Abstract

Mineral resources in the subsoil are classified as exhaustible. One of the ways to potentially replenish the sources of mineral resources is presented in the materials of these studies. In this article, we studied the natural formation in the bowels of the array of zones of high concentrations of compounds of useful components. We aimed to develop the technological methods of mass transfer and directed deposition of useful components. The technological transition of mineral resource extraction from the “gathering” [...]

Modified Organized Systems by Incorporation of Carbon Allotropes and Derivatives for Electron Shuttle, ET, FRET, MEF, and Quantum Biology Coupling

Received: 14 October 2023;  Published: 31 January 2024;  doi: 10.21926/rpm.2401003

Abstract

This communication was brief to show how high conjugated carbon-based structures and carbon allotropes could participate as electron shuttles, semiconductors, quantum emitters, and Optoelectronic processors within confined nanostructured organized systems. In particular, it was focused on nanoassemblies such as vesicles, micelles, and lipidic nanoparticles and incorporated insights from other types of nanomaterials that could afford to develop new organized systems. In these cases, the term organized system was use [...]

Time is a Precious Commodity: Reframing Farmer Stress and Mental Health Through the Lens of Time Poverty

Received: 24 September 2024;  Published: 16 January 2025;  doi: 10.21926/obm.icm.2501005

Abstract

In this conceptual paper we apply the construct of time poverty to a novel population, farmers struggling with stress and mental health challenges. Farmers have rates of suicide that can be over three times that of the general population, with depression and anxiety at double general population rates. These are linked to the multiple stressors farmers experience due to the unpredictable nature of their work, such as weather, input costs, commodity prices, and government regulations. In addition, there are multiple [...]

Exploring the Impact of Genuineness in Psychotherapy: A Self-Practice/Self-Reflection (SP/SR) Report

Received: 21 March 2024;  Published: 12 August 2024;  doi: 10.21926/obm.icm.2403046

Abstract

A growing body of evidence has highlighted the limitations of relying solely on positivist research when summarizing SP/SR results since it might hinder pluralistic perspectives from unique backgrounds and life experiences. In the present reflective report, I aim to conduct quantitative and qualitative research on myself to explore the impact of concentrating on genuineness when delivering psychotherapy as a trainee. This article provides concrete examples of how therapists’ authenticity could benefit the therapeut [...]

Beneficial Effects of Acupuncture for Depression-A Possible Mediation of Peripheral Sensory Stimulation and Central Oxytocin Release

Received: 28 August 2023;  Published: 27 February 2024;  doi: 10.21926/obm.icm.2401016

Abstract

In modern society, depression is one of the most common mental disorders. It is generally thought that depression is due to the disorders of neuronal circuits and chemical balance in the brain. Patients with depression often receive treatment with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). However, recent studies suggest that the magnitude of benefit of pharmacological treatment is quite limited for these patients. Although recent studies propose acupuncture as a non-pharmacological approach to managing depre [...]
