Catalysis Research is an international peer-reviewed Open Access journal published quarterly online by LIDSEN Publishing Inc. There is no restriction on paper length, provided that the text is concise and comprehensive. Authors should present their results in as much detail as possible, as reviewers are encouraged to emphasize scientific rigor and reproducibility.

About This Topic

The development of efficient, selective, and durable electrocatalysts is essential for advancing sustainable energy conversion technologies. Interfacial engineering offers a powerful strategy to regulate charge transfer, reaction intermediates, and active-site interactions in hybrid electrocatalytic systems. By integrating complementary materials and tailoring their interfaces, hybrid electrocatalysts can exhibit enhanced activity, selectivity, and stability beyond those of their individual components. This Special Issue focuses on recent advances in the design, synthesis, characterization, and mechanistic understanding of interface-engineered hybrid electrocatalysts for energy conversion. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, CO2 electroreduction, hydrogen evolution, oxygen evolution and reduction reactions, and other emerging electrochemical conversion processes. Particular attention is given to hybrid systems involving MOFs, MXenes, metal-based catalysts, metal oxides, carbon materials, and other advanced functional materials, as well as experimental and theoretical studies that elucidate interfacial effects and structure–performance relationships.
