Research Interests: Heterogeneous catalysis; Hybrid materials; Green chemistry; Biomass; Environmental preservation

About the topic:

Dear Colleagues,

The progressive depletion of fossil fuels and raise awareness of their effects on climate change have boosted the research of sustainable alternatives. Biomass, as a renewable feedstock, has been gaining utmost importance since, by its conversion, several chemicals, biofuels and added value products can be achieved from sustainability perspectives. The studies on heterogeneous catalysts applied in biomass conversion are in dynamic growth, although still efforts have to be done considering that several industrial plants are still based on the use of homogeneous catalysts.

This Special Issue is targeted to collect quality papers about the synthesis and application of New Heterogeneous Catalysts for Biomass Conversion.

The studies will emphasize on morphological and catalytic properties of these heterogeneous catalysts and their application on the achievement of chemicals, biofuels and added value products. Studies concerning the use of green procedures, both for the synthesis of materials and their applications, following the principle of circular chemistry are strongly welcome.

I am pleased to invite you to submit manuscripts for this Special Issue on Development of New Heterogeneous Catalysts for Biomass Conversion, in the form of research papers, communications, letters, and review articles.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted through the LIDSEN Submission System. Detailed information on manuscript preparation and submission is available in the Instructions for Authors. All submitted articles will be thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process and will be processed following the Editorial Process and Quality Control policy. Upon acceptance, the article will be immediately published in a regular issue of the journal and will be listed together on the special issue website, with a label that the article belongs to the Special Issue. LIDSEN distributes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) License in an open-access model. The authors own the copyright to the article, and the article can be free to access, distribute, and reuse provided that the original work is correctly cited.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). Research articles and review articles are highly invited. Authors are encouraged to send the tentative title and abstract of the planned paper to the Editorial Office (cr@lidsen.com) for record. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Editorial Office.

Welcome your submission!

Nano Metal Oxide Frameworks (NOF): Development of New Heterogeneous Catalyst for the Synthesis of Furan Derivatives from Glucose

Received: 01 June 2023;  Published: 21 November 2023;  doi: 10.21926/cr.2304028

Abstract

A surface modification approach has prepared a nanostructured organic framework connecting two metal oxide NPs. The surface modifier attached two metal oxide NPs via molecular interaction to generate modular structures of fiber, rod, or sponge materials. Thus, obtained hybrid systems have been confirmed through FT-IR, [...]

Design of Heterogeneous Catalysts for the Conversion of Furfural to C5 Derivatives: A Brief Review

Received: 30 June 2022;  Published: 13 September 2022;  doi: 10.21926/cr.2203026

Abstract

Technological development made in the field of biomass application allows synthesizing several high-value products, such as furfuraldehyde. Furfural, produced through sequential hydrolysis and dehydration reactions from biomass, is considered a platform molecule and a precursor of several other chemicals and biofuels that are generated followi [...]
