Dear Colleagues,
Considering emerging environmental pollutants, recent developments in the catalysis by two dimensional materials for environmental applications is interested in this issue. Graphene, MXenes, Xenes, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), 2D ZIFs and POMs, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN), etc. are well-known as outstanding catalysis materials because of their unique structure like high surface area/volume ratio, significantly tunable and electrical properties. This issue of the journal particularly welcomes all research conducted towards the development of 2D material catalysts for environmental applications such as CO₂ capturing and catalysis conversion, wastewater treatment, adsorption, persistent PFASs degradation, photo-catalysis, electro-catalysis, membrane separation, desalination, dionization, desulfurization, gas sensing, etc. Developing new 2D catalysts, functionalization, new composites and hybrid 2D materials, precursors for atomic catalysts, catalyst selectivity, activity, and stability, as well as challenges and prospective of these catalysts, are ongoing recent research studied in this filed which are of great interest in this special issue of journal.
