Radionuclide Contamination of Fish in a Dammed Water Body of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone: A Case Study of the Yanivskyi Backwater

Received: 08 January 2026;  Published: 07 July 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2603017

Abstract

The results of the assessment of the levels of radionuclide contamination of fish in the dammed, conditionally impermeable Yanivskyi backwater of the Pripyat River in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone (ChEZ) for the period 2008-2025 are presented. It was found that the activity concentration of radionuclides in representatives of the ichthyofauna of the backwater as of 2025 decreased compared to the beginning of our research of this water body in 2008, on average, by 1.6 times for the content of 90Sr, and by 1.4 times f [...]

Physicochemical Drivers of Methane Recovery and Techno-Economic Feasibility in Anaerobic Digestion of Organic-Rich Municipal Waste

Received: 14 January 2026;  Published: 01 July 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2603016

Abstract

Anaerobic digestion (AD) has emerged as a promising pathway for recovering energy from organic-rich municipal solid waste (MSW), particularly in waste systems characterized by high biodegradable content and moisture levels. However, the relationships between waste physicochemical properties, methane recovery potential, and techno-economic feasibility remain insufficiently integrated in current research. This study developed a comparative framework combining empirical prediction (S1), stoichiometric estimation (S2), [...]

Sport Psychology 2.0

Received: 20 December 2025;  Published: 24 June 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2602015

Abstract

The field of sports psychology has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, largely influenced by global changes caused by the pandemic. One notable development is the evolution of e-sports psychology from an emergency solution to a permanent and integral component of a specialist’s repertoire. The objective of this paper is to provide a concise overview of the contemporary provision of psychological services through online consultations in competitive sport. The advent of global digitalisation has e [...]

Regime Type and Environmental Adaptation: A Theoretical Examination of Political Constraints on Ecological Governance

Received: 28 February 2026;  Published: 22 June 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2602014

Abstract

This Perspective revises the Regime-Constraint-Adaptation (RCA) framework to clarify that environmental adaptation is not explained by regime labels alone, nor by a normative comparison between democracy and autocracy. Governance is treated more narrowly as the selection, calibration, implementation, and correction of policy instruments in relation to legally defined ecological objectives and observed ecological outcomes. The revised argument integrates RCA with the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framewo [...]

Innovative Façade Materials and Their Tectonic Implications: A Meta-Analysis and Taxonomical Framework

Received: 15 December 2025;  Published: 18 June 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2602013

Abstract

The incorporation of innovative contemporary façade materials has fundamentally transformed architectural practice, driven by increasing demands for sustainability, building performance, and aesthetic expression. Despite substantial technical advancements in materials science, a critical gap persists in linking material innovation to tectonic expression — the relationship between material properties, construction logic, and architectural form. This study presents a systematic meta-analysis and a taxonomic framework [...]

Stock Market Development and CO2 Emissions in Africa: The Moderating Role of Domestic Credit to the Private Sector

Received: 06 January 2026;  Published: 04 June 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2602012

Abstract

This study examines the effects of stock market development (SMC) and renewable energy consumption on CO2 emissions in nine African economies over the period 2000-2024. It also tests whether domestic credit to the private sector (DC) moderates the relationship between stock market development and CO2 emissions. Panel data econometrics, including Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) for the main estimates and Panel-Corrected Standard Errors (PCSE) for robustness checks, are used as the primary analytic techniqu [...]

Assessing Land Use Dynamics and Thermal Stress in Ahmedabad Using Integrated Remote Sensing and Machine Learning Techniques

Received: 01 March 2026;  Published: 27 May 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2602011

Abstract

The rapid urbanisation in developing countries has not only intensified land transformation but also significantly altered surface temperatures, thereby increasing climate vulnerability. Ahmedabad, one of India’s fastest-growing cities, has witnessed substantial urban growth over the past two decades and therefore requires an integrated approach to analyse land-use change, thermal dynamics, and future growth patterns. This study aims to analyse the spatial and temporal patterns of land use/land cover (LULC) changes [...]

Application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Assessing the Current Condition and Closure Design of Da Mai Landfill (Vietnam)

Received: 24 December 2025;  Published: 25 May 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2602010

Abstract

Municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills remain a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, leachate pollution, and land degradation, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where many sites operate beyond their design capacity. This study proposes an integrated and low-cost framework combining unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) photogrammetry with environmental assessment to support landfill closure planning. Using the Da Mai landfill (Vietnam) as a case study, high-resolution orthomosaics and a digital surface m [...]

Integrated Assessment and Projection of Urban Expansion and Thermal Dynamics in Bangalore Using Multi-Temporal Landsat Data and Machine Learning Techniques

Received: 12 February 2026;  Published: 19 May 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2602009

Abstract

Rapid urbanization has remarkably altered land surface characteristics and thermal environments in Indian metropolitan cities, thereby increasing ecological pressure and urban heat risk. This study integrates assessments of land use and land cover (LULC) change and LST, and the UTFVI for Bangalore, India, using multi-temporal Landsat imagery and geospatial techniques, along with machine learning methods. LULC changes were studied and analyzed for 2000 and 2020, and a simulation to 2024 was performed, employing a Ra [...]

DWSIM-Based Process Simulation and Exergy Analysis of Bioethanol Production from Rice Husk

Received: 31 December 2025;  Published: 30 April 2026;  doi: 10.21926/aeer.2602008

Abstract

The growing concerns over fossil fuel dependency have motivated the exploration of sustainable biofuel alternatives. However, the practice of utilizing first-generation bioethanol production obtained majorly from food crops threat food supply market and poses threat to food security and land use. As a way forward, second-generation bioethanol from biomass, such as rice husk, an abundant agricultural residue, could potentially offer a promising pathway. Yet, its conversion remains energy-intensive and thermodynamica [...]
