The Influence of Gender and Academic Achievement on University Students' Perceptions of LMS-Based Self-Regulated Learning in KoreaAbstract
This study examines how university students perceive Learning Management System (LMS)-based instruction within the context of higher education, as they adapt to the rapid digital transformation. Specifically, it examines how students' perceptions differ based on gender and academic achievement, providing insights for more inclusive and adaptive instructional design. LMS platforms, when actively utilized, offer more than just content delivery—they can enhance classroom transparency, provide immediate feedback, promo [...] 728 3407 |
Mindful Attention and Awareness Prospectively Predicts Stress in Daily Life: A Multilevel Modeling ApproachAbstract
Chronic stress increases a person’s vulnerability for physical and mental health conditions that take root in the “common soil” of inflammation. Dispositional, or trait, mindfulness has been identified as a protective factor against perceived stress. However, the theory that trait mindfulness can prospectively predict lower perceived stress in natural settings has yet to be thoroughly tested. The current study used a daily diary prospective design to observe perceived stress in response to difficult events. Partici [...] 494 2204 |
Technology Support to Enable People with Severe Intellectual Disability and Blindness to Carry Out Occupational Activities and Transition Between Them Independentlyby
Abstract
People with severe intellectual disability and blindness tend to perform only simple occupational activities and are mostly unable to transition between those activities. This inability makes their level of occupation independent of staff support fairly limited. Technology-aided programs may be one of the few opportunities available to increase their independent occupation. This study assessed one such program designed to (a) monitor the participants’ responses and guide them to transition to a new activity once th [...] 615 2529 |
Evaluation of the Transitional Pain Service Specialized Iyengar-Informed Yoga Program for Chronic Post-Surgical Pain: A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trialby
Abstract
The objective of this randomized controlled trial (RCT) was to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of a specialized Iyengar-informed yoga intervention for individuals who experience chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP). This prospective, multi-wave pilot RCT was pre-registered at clinicaltrials.gov (NCT03460028) and designed in accordance with the 2010 CONSORT statement. Participants (N = 21) with CPSP were out-patients or community members affiliated with a Toronto hospital. Participants were randomized to an 8-wee [...] 716 2725 |
The Impact of Vitamin D on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Exploring Its Role in Glucose Metabolism and Insulin SensitivityAbstract
Vitamin D, a fat-soluble secosteroid, plays a pivotal role beyond its functions in calcium and bone homeostasis. Emerging evidence suggests its involvement in glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity, thus influencing the pathophysiology of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). For the current review, a search was conducted across four major databases: PubMed, Embase, Google Scholar, and Web of Science. The aim was to identify relevant studies and clinical trials, published in English, reporting the mechanistic insigh [...] 1238 7125 |

This personal report summarizes the key experiences and insights gained from attending the 2025 International Symposium organized by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) and the Acupuncture Science Association of Sweden (ASAS), held in Stockholm. The event brought together international experts to explore recent advances in acupuncture research, clinical applications, education, and global integration. Despite notable challenges—including issues with AI-assisted real-time translation and [...] 995 4936 |
Effect of EVA on the Unnotched Impact Toughness of PP/HDPE/EVA Blendsby
Abstract
Beverage bottle caps are usually made from two primary materials: PP and HDPE. In this study, the evaluation criteria were the unnotched impact toughness and the microstructure of PP/HDPE/EVA samples produced by injection molding. The samples were tested according to ASTM D256. PP/HDPE/EVA blends were prepared with various ratios: 47.5/47.5/5, 45/45/10, 42.5/42.5/15, 40/40/20, and 37.5/37.5/25. The results showed that adding EVA to the PP/HDPE blend significantly increased the unnotched impact toughness: from 84.03 [...] 972 4563 |
Interactive and Deep Learning-Powered EEG-BCI for Wrist Rehabilitation: A Game-based Prototype StudyAbstract
Motor deficits induced by neurological disorders impose a severe impact on activities of daily life. Conventional rehabilitation practices necessitate ongoing clinical supervision, which is costly and inaccessible. EEG-based brain-computer interface (BCI) systems offer a viable solution by facilitating neurorehabilitation through the direct interpretation of brain signals. Nonetheless, current systems are confronted with issues of real-time control, portability, and classification precision. The paper describes a n [...] 1301 7184 |
A Systematic Literature Review for the Development of a Consolidated Method for DLCAAbstract
Dynamic Life Cycle Assessment (DLCA) is an emerging approach in the construction industry it is. Yet, current research is often limited, overlooks operational patterns, and relies on generic case studies, highlighting the need for an extended method to apply these analyses in the built environment. This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review to evaluate the current state of DLCA research and identify key steps toward developing a unified and globally applicable methodology. Using the PRISMA protocol, 69 peer [...] 992 4742 |
