Recent Progress in Materials (ISSN 2689-5846) is an international peer-reviewed Open Access journal published quarterly online by LIDSEN Publishing Inc. This periodical is devoted to publishing high-quality papers that describe the most significant and cutting-edge research in all areas of Materials. Its aim is to provide timely, authoritative introductions to current thinking, developments and research in carefully selected topics. Also, it aims to enhance the international exchange of scientific activities in materials science and technology.
Recent Progress in Materials publishes original high quality experimental and theoretical papers and reviews on basic and applied research in the field of materials science and engineering, with focus on synthesis, processing, constitution, and properties of all classes of materials. Particular emphasis is placed on microstructural design, phase relations, computational thermodynamics, and kinetics at the nano to macro scale. About This Topic
This special issue focuses on the latest advancements in the synthesis, characterization, and application of nanocomposite materials, which represent a rapidly growing field at the intersection of nanotechnology and materials science. Nanocomposites, composed of nanoscale reinforcements embedded within a matrix, exhibit unique properties—such as enhanced mechanical strength, thermal stability, electrical conductivity, and biocompatibility—that surpass those of conventional composites.
The scope encompasses innovative synthesis methods, including chemical, physical, and hybrid approaches, as well as detailed studies on structure-property relationships and performance optimization. Applications span diverse sectors including biomedical engineering, electronics, energy storage, environmental remediation, and aerospace. By highlighting cutting-edge research in material design, processing techniques, and functional properties, this special issue aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerate the development of next-generation nanocomposite materials with tailored functionalities and broad industrial relevance. Contributions that explore theoretical modeling, experimental characterization, and practical applications are highly encouraged.
