About This Topic

The global burden of dementia is currently at over 50 million affected individuals and expected to grow to over 150 million individuals by 2050.  The majority of cases are Alzheimer's Disease for which there is currently no effective treatment, and for which care remains supportive.  In addition to reducing healthy life expectancy, the burden of care poses a tremendous economic and emotional toll among caregivers and families. In this series on dementia care, we focus on care models to improve access, ease the burden of care, report on new treatment findings, and evaluate strategies to maintain quality of life for individuals and families affected by dementia.

We invite your manuscripts to address this important topic.
