Dr. Liehr has worked in cytogenetics since 1991. Since 1998, he has been the head of the molecular cytogenetics group at the Institute of Human Genetics in Jena, Germany. He is particularly skilled in the development and application of multicolor FISH probe sets for characterizing marker chromosomes. He has also received multiple awards and two invited professorships.
