Fetuin-A, encoded by the AHSG gene, is a hepatokine that regulates metabolism, ectopic calcification, and cardiovascular homeostasis. Beyond mineral sequestration, it binds Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) ligands, modulating their extracellular availability.
