Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research (AEER) is an international peer-reviewed Open Access journal published quarterly online by LIDSEN Publishing Inc. This periodical is devoted to publishing high-quality peer-reviewed papers that describe the most significant and cutting-edge research in all areas of environmental science and engineering. Work at any scale, from molecular biology through to ecology, is welcomed.
Main research areas include (but are not limited to):
Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research publishes a range of papers (original research, review, communication, opinion, study protocol, comment, conference report, technical note, book review, etc.). We encourage authors to be succinct; however, authors should present their results in as much detail as necessary. Reviewers are expected to emphasize scientific rigor and reproducibility.

About This Topic
According to the United Nation, water scarcity is one of the major problems facing many countries around the globe. Practicing sustainable water management strategies is the key for keeping the water supply safe.
Almost all daily human activities and manufacturing industry utilize water and generate wastewater. Wastewater discharges from industrial and municipal sources to the environment have been growing steadily in many countries due to the economic developments. Unfortunately, in many cases untreated wastewater discharge leads to environmental pollution and contaminates surface, ground and coastal waters and deteriorates water quality in rivers, lakes and canals.
This special issue of the Advances in Environmental and Engineering Research journal focuses on sustainable wastewater treatment techniques. We welcome high-quality manuscripts emphasizing recent developments and emerging technologies on industrial, municipal and agricultural wastewater remediation and management strategies. We encourage the authors to be scientifically rigorous and avoid speculations in their writing. Although, we would consider review articles, the priority will be given to the manuscripts based on original and new research.
