About This Topic
The global transition to a Circular Economy (CE) is taking shape through regional and local initiatives. This Special Issue will investigate how CE principles can be implemented in specific regions using integrated governance models, industrial synergies, performance indicators, and community engagement. Regional CE applications include not only technological and environmental changes, but also social and institutional innovation.
This Special Issue invites interdisciplinary contributions on the implementation of CE in regional contexts, with topics including circular business models, waste valorization strategies, local policy integration, and stakeholder participation. We especially welcome case studies, conceptual models, and comparative analyses that shed light on the opportunities and challenges of integrating CE into territorial development frameworks. The goal is to foster an open dialogue among academics, policymakers, and practitioners about scalable circularity strategies for regional sustainability.
