About This Topic
This study explores the environmental impacts associated with urban expansion and housing development in Malaysia. As urban areas grow rapidly to accommodate increasing populations, significant ecological challenges such as habitat loss, increased pollution, and resource depletion emerge. Understanding these environmental consequences is crucial for sustainable urban planning and housing policies. The research aims to identify key environmental issues arising from urban and housing development, analyse current mitigation strategies, and propose sustainable solutions tailored to Malaysia’s unique context. The significance of this issue lies in balancing urban growth with ecological preservation to ensure sustainable development, improve residents’ quality of life, and safeguard Malaysia’s natural resources for future generations. By integrating environmental considerations into housing policies, stakeholders can promote resilient cities that harmonize development with ecological sustainability.
Manuscript Submission Information

All submitted articles will be thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process and will be processed following the Editorial Process and Quality Control policy. Upon acceptance, the article will be immediately published in a regular issue of the journal and will be listed together on the special issue website, with a label that the article belongs to the Special Issue. LIDSEN distributes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) License in an open-access model. The authors own the copyright to the article, and the article can be free to access, distribute, and reuse provided that the original work is correctly cited.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers).
