About This Topic
This Special Issue addresses the need for innovative strategies to preserve, restore, and sustainably manage soil and land resources in natural, rural and urban environments. Anthropogenic pressures and climate change threaten terrestrial ecosystems, advancing our understanding of soil health is vital for securing global food systems, preserving biodiversity, and mitigating climate impacts.
Original research articles, comprehensive reviews, and case studies are welcome and, particularly, interdisciplinary submissions that highlight cutting-edge methodologies, such as digital soil mapping, precision agriculture, and nature-based solutions, alongside studies on carbon sequestration, regenerative farming, and socio-economic frameworks for combating land degradation in urban areas. This issue aims to provide actionable, science-based insights to support researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Keywords
Carbon Sequestration, Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN), Precision Agroecosystems, Regenerative Agriculture, Sustainable Land Management (SLM), Soil Health and Remediation, Urban soils.
Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted through the LIDSEN Submission System. Detailed information on manuscript preparation and submission is available in the Instructions for Authors. All submitted articles will be thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process and will be processed following the Editorial Process and Quality Control policy.
