<p>The International Exchange of Professionals &#x2013; Thematic Event in Medicine 2026, held in Athens, was a high-level interdisciplinary forum for clinical medicine, biomedical research, and translational innovation. Conducted at the Radisson Blu Park Hotel, the congress brought together more than 300 international experts from over 40 countries. It was organized under the auspices of the World High Technology Society in cooperation with BIT Group Global and the Shenzhen International Talent Exchange Center. The program included an Opening Cocktail, Opening Ceremony, Keynote Forum, Welcome Banquet, and nine parallel thematic world congresses covering major medical disciplines, including oncology, cardiology, neuroscience, infectious diseases, orthopaedics, and drug discovery. The Opening Ceremony and Keynote Forum featured internationally leading experts presenting advances in artificial intelligence, epigenetics, gene editing, pharmacology, and personalized medicine, highlighting strong interdisciplinary and translational relevance. Structured networking formats and cultural exchange elements further strengthened international collaboration and scientific dialogue. The congress demonstrated the importance of integrating academic, clinical, and industrial perspectives to foster innovation in global healthcare. The event concluded with the announcement of the next congress in Bucharest, Romania, scheduled for June 16-18, 2027, where continued interdisciplinary collaboration will be further developed.</p>

<title>Opening Cocktail &#x2013; Scientific Speed Networking with Panoramic View of the Acropolis of Athens</title>
<p>The congress commenced on April 14, 2026, with an Opening Cocktail. The evening was moderated by the author of this editorial, emphasizing the connection between classical knowledge traditions and contemporary scientific congress culture.</p>
<p>A key narrative element of the opening remarks from Gerhard Litscher was the illustration of scientific exchange across time. Reference was made to an early philosophical tradition in Athens around 430 BCE, when knowledge development was already rooted in questioning, observation, and interdisciplinary dialogue. This historical perspective was used to emphasize that modern medical innovation continues to rely on the same principles of curiosity and cross-disciplinary communication. Further, the evolution of scientific congress culture was highlighted by referencing the emergence of modern international scientific meetings around 1900 in Europe, which formalized structured interdisciplinary exchange. The continuity from these early congress traditions to the present meeting in 2026 in Athens underscores the long-standing trajectory of collaborative science. In this context, the Acropolis was not only presented as a symbolic landmark, but also as a metaphor for the continuity of knowledge from antiquity to contemporary global science.</p>
<p>The strategic framework of the congress was introduced by Dr. Xiaodan Mei, President of BIT Group Global and Executive Director of the Meeting, who outlined the international vision of the event (<xref ref-type="fig" rid="F-02">Figure 2</xref>).</p>

<p>The Athens 2026 congress demonstrated high scientific quality, strong interdisciplinary integration, and global participation. The structured moderation ensured scientific coherence across all central program components. The International Exchange of Professionals in Medicine 2026 confirmed that future medical innovation relies on sustained international collaboration and cross-disciplinary scientific dialogue. The next congress will take place in Bucharest, Romania, June 16-18, 2027, again under the continued scientific host and moderation by Prof. Gerhard Litscher (more information: <email>belinda@eventcommitte.com</email>).</p>
